Who is AerobicMom?

Welcome to AerobicMom.com — I’m finally joining the blogging world, and I can’t imagine a better place to make my mark. If there’s one topic that I’ll never run out of things to say–it’s living as a strong, healthy, and active woman and mother! I’m a stay-at-home-mom to a wild and crazy 5 yr old boy, a 3 year old princess who can definitely hold her own, and a 1 yr old who is quickly growing up!! I’m also a certified group exercise instructor and teach aerobics and Zumba classes at the 2 largest universities in Utah.  I  LOVE taking a little break each week to stay healthy and help other women establish and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Where I’ve come from

I’ve come a long way from my late teens when I struggled with anorexia. It’s taken years to overcome this addiction, and I know there are many women who live every day of their lives with the same anxiety about food and weight, without a formal diagnosis. My hope is to help all women who struggle with body image issues, or anxiety about food and exercise realize that there is a much fuller, more balanced life available to them. While I know I always need to guard my eating habits vigilantly, I consider the fact that I was finally able to have a baby (my third) without Maternity Pics June 2009 053fertility drugs a major sign that my body and spirit have truly recovered.

Why blog?

This blog is all about women trying to find their way through this messed-up culture to a place where they eat to feel good, live active to feel good, and learn to love their bodies for the blessings that they are. I reject the idea that women have to maintain an unrealistic idealized body type to be beautiful, or join an expensive gym to stay healthy. I believe that when you are educated on basic healthy living principles and keep your focus is on living healthy and feeling good, your body will find its best place to be.

What’s coming!

I’ll be blogging about spiritual recovery from food and body issues, practical steps you can take to eat well without anxiety, and education on proper exercise. I also aim to interview amazing REAL women who are living full lives as Aerobicmoms.
